A major scientific research project undertaken by the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry at the Chinese Academy of Sciences to develop a large-scale cryogenic refrigeration system in the liquid and superfluid helium temperature ranges, passed appraisal in April, demonstrating that China is capable of developing large-scale cryogenic refrigeration equipment that work at a liquid helium temperature of-269 C kilowatt level and a superfluid helium temperature of -271 C kilowatt level. Large-scale liquid and superfluid helium temperature range cryogenic refrigeration equipment is indispensable to the aerospace industry, hydrogen energy storage and transportation, the development of helium resources and other fields.
