Bosch Sensortec launches BMI260 Series, a New Generation of High-Performance MEMS Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). For smartphone applications The series includes four sensors BMI260,BMI261,BMI263 and BMI264– providing a wide range of features, including full Android compatibility, I 3C interface and sensor synchronization support.

The new IMU is equipped with high performance accelerometers that support indoor SLAM (synchronous positioning and mapping) to provide high precision step records, motion detection and accurate data. In addition to performance improvements, the BMI260 family can significantly reduce power consumption and extend the battery life of smartphones. Thanks to its low delay and the support of OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization), the BMI260 series can present clearer images and ultra-smooth video stability.

“our next generation of BMI260 IMU is built on this solid foundation that the BMI160 line has successfully broken through the billion mark.” Bosch Sensortec Chief Executive Officer Dr. Stefan Finkbeiner said, “the new series of IMU has higher accelerometer performance, many powerful functions and interfaces, and more importantly, provides the (CRT) function for self-calibration of static gyroscopes.” End users can now look forward to the launch of many new features, as well as faster, smoother, and near-perfect experience.
